About Our Client

Client is a diversified shipping and logistics group based in Antwerp. They operate and own 139 vessels for dry bulk, container transport, chemical tankers, Oil tankers & crew transfer vessels. They are also active in cleantech and real estate. Worldwide, there are approximately 250 people working within the family owned group.

For this Belgium based client, I am currently recruiting for a junior accounting role in Ijmuiden. This is a small but dynamic team where you can have a real opportunity to learn and grow at a fast pace. Job Description

  • Assisting with the monthly, quarterly and year-end closings
  • Recording bank journals and preparing payment proposals
  • Follow-up of cash position and fund request
  • Register and follow-up balances of the accounts payables and receivables
  • Contributing to the preparation of the declarations (like VAT & others)
  • General Ledger Reconciliation
  • Communicate & cooperate with other colleagues and departments as necessary, in order to get the required info
  • Other administrative support, such as; preparing SOX control reports, follow-up balance accounts, assisting with preparation of audit process and in ad-hoc projects

The Successful Applicant

  • Excellent MS Office knowledge and reporting skills
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of NL GAAP
  • You have an eye for detail, but still you keep an overview
  • Discretion and reliability are indispensable in this job
  • You have a sense of responsibility and have the necessary commitment
  • You are precise, enjoy working with figures and are eager to learn
  • A team player with good communication skills, but you can also work independently and in a structured way
  • Languages: Fluent in Dutch (pre) and very good knowledge of English (must have)
