This globally leading confectionery producer, renowned for its iconic brands, is dedicated to ongoing innovation and improvement across all areas-from product development to manufacturing. To strengthen their procurement team, they are seeking a motivated and experienced Interim Buyer specializing in packaging materials.

It regards a position till the end of the year for 36-40 hours per week, with the chance of extension or a contract.

Job Description

In this role, you will oversee the procurement of packaging materials-including cardboard, foil, labels, and more-ensuring they align with production schedules. You will lead negotiations with suppliers on pricing, delivery terms, and contract conditions to secure optimal outcomes.

Your responsibilities will also involve driving cost efficiency through market analysis and supplier benchmarking to uncover savings opportunities. Effective inventory management will be key, as you monitor stock levels to avoid shortages or excess that could disrupt production.

Additionally, you will focus on streamlining procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Providing regular reports on procurement performance will be vital to keeping stakeholders informed and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

The Successful Applicant

  • You are immediately available for 36-40 hours per week
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar procurement role, preferably in the packaging industry
  • Strong expertise in sourcing packaging materials, supplier management/negotiation
  • Analytical and results-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication skills; effective collaborator across internal teams and external partners
  • Adaptable, deadline-focused, and comfortable in dynamic environments
  • Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Fluent in English
