The organization employs staff in more than 20 countries and runs programs and operations across over 70 countries worldwide. Their Amsterdam office hosts a collaborative HR and Payroll team that values transparency, continuous improvement, and cross‑border cooperation. The organization is currently implementing a new global payroll platform.

Job Description

  • Manage end‑to‑end payroll for multiple European countries;
  • Process in‑house payroll for the Netherlands;
  • Maintain employee data, benefits, and holiday accruals;
  • Verify monthly payroll inputs and ensure timely processing;
  • Ensure compliance with Dutch payroll legislation and tax requirements;
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee payroll questions;
  • Support audits and internal control processes;
  • Improve and standardize payroll workflows across the region;
  • Handle holiday bookings and sickness reporting;
  • Collaborate closely with HR, building trust and ensuring smooth communication.

The Successful Applicant

  • You have at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role (such as Payroll Officer, HR Officer, or HR Advisor), preferably with Dutch certifications (such as BDL, VPS);
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills;
  • Experience with payroll systems;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities;
  • Flexible, proactive, and comfortable in a dynamic environment;
  • Experience with international payroll is an advantage;
  • You are fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.
